Special refuge in the middle of the mountains!
The mountain cottage Achadinha is a typical Madeiran house, built with basaltic stones, with two floors. The house has a kitchen, a living room with fireplace, two bathrooms with shower and two bedrooms. The master bedroom, on the upper mezzanine level, is quite cosy and unique. It can be accessed by a beautiful staircase constructed by hand with local wood. The interior construction, in stone and wood, resembles a rustic stable. A real haven and refuge in the middle of the mountains at one step from the Madeiran Laurissilva forest, from Rabacal and from the famous Levadas 25 Fontes and Risco.
To contrast with the strong character of the built setting, the rustic decorations and furniture were thought in detail and some old elements that were passed from generation to generation were included. The creativity of combining all these relics into a harmonious composition makes the cottage Achadinha a very special please where magic seems to happen.
Around the house, in the exterior area, there are several flowered terraces, which act like belvederes, to see the landscape from different perspectives. A picturesque setting with rural houses and the sea in front. A barbecue area attached to the cottage contributes to compose the exterior space and makes the outdoor are more livable. The smell of the wet land, of the large trees and the sound of the birds at dawn will never be forgotten.
